Abstract
This article provides an in-depth analysis of the role of psychological factors in
the process of preparing handball players for competitions. The psychological stability, emotional
management, stress tolerance, motivation, self-confidence, and ability to adapt to a team
environment of athletes directly affect the results of the competition. The study covers the main
aspects of psychological preparation, including self-assessment, concentration, the formation of
leadership qualities, factors related to the athlete's personal life, as well as the role of modern
technologies. The article emphasizes that psychological support helps athletes maintain balance
not only in sports, but also in their personal lives. In conclusion, it is argued that effective
psychological preparation is an important tool in ensuring high results in competitions, mental
stability, and social adaptability of athletes. The article also emphasizes the need to create an
effective model of cooperation between sports psychologists and coaches when working with
handball players. Psychological training, the formation of emotional discipline, stress management
methods and techniques for increasing motivation allow athletes to fully realize their individual
potential. The results of the study show that when psychological preparation is combined with
physical preparation, athletes' stability in competition increases and their chances of achieving
continued success in their professional activities increase. Therefore, the article substantiates the
complex and multifaceted nature of psychological factors, as well as the relevance of their
consistent and scientifically based inclusion in the sports training system.
