    Abstract
    The article analyzes the relevance of developing a model for the formation of competencies in the field of life safety. Technical progress, environmental problems and the growing number of emergency situations increase the need to develop knowledge and skills in the field of safety. The study examines existing problems, the basic principles of developing competencies in the field of life safety, the use of interactive methods in the education system, the introduction of digital technologies, and industry approaches. The stages of the model development and the directions of its implementation in education and practice are also described. As a result, it is emphasized that the model of development of competencies in the field of life safety contributes to the formation of a safety culture in society and a reduction in the number of accidents.
