    Abstract
    This article analyzes the results of research aimed at improving the efficiency of renewable energy sources, in particular the utilization of solar energy, by enhancing the performance of photovoltaic (PV) modules through the application of new types of cooling systems. A comparative study was conducted on two photovoltaic– thermal (PV/T) modules, each based on identical 180 W photovoltaic panels but equipped with different types of thermal collectors. The research examined the problem of reduced PV efficiency under elevated temperatures and explored methods of mitigating this effect. The findings demonstrated that, by integrating specially designed PV/T modules developed at the Institute of Physics and Technology, the electrical performance of the photovoltaic panels was significantly improved through effective thermal regulation. According to the results, PV/T systems not only increase the efficiency of photovoltaic modules but also provide hot water for household needs. Furthermore, two types of thermal collectors—based on cellular polycarbonate and polyethylene tubing—were developed, and their technical and economic performance was comparatively analyzed.
