This paper explores the design and operation of solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging stations as a sustainable alternative to conventional grid-dependent systems. With the increasing demand for EVs, integrating renewable energy sources like solar power into charging infrastructure offers both environmental and economic benefits, reducing carbon emissions and dependency on non-renewable resources. This study proposes a hybrid solar-electric charging model optimized for energy management, addressing challenges related to intermittency and storage. Through simulations and performance analysis, key metrics such as charging efficiency, cost savings, and emission reductions are evaluated, demonstrating the model’s viability across various geographic and climatic conditions.
The findings highlight solar-powered EV charging stations as an effective solution for sustainable urban energy systems, with implications for further research in hybrid energy integration and storage optimization.
